Meat sale slated for Feb. 22-24

Meat sale alert! All items in the meat department will be 10% off between February 22 and 24. The co-op has great selections of meat that’s prepared in-house, including dry-aged ribeye steaks, house-made sausages, and chicken marinated in a variety of different flavors. You can also find fresh, locally-caught fish, as well as venison, elk, bison and more! At the co-op, you know you’re getting high quality, sustainably-sourced meat and fish. Enjoy the savings!

Owner Appreciation slated for Feb. 12-20

To show our appreciation to all who own the co-op, we are offering some great discounts starting Saturday! Co-op owners can choose a shopping trip between Feb. 12 and Feb. 20 to stock up and save up to 20%. Here’s how the discount works:

· Spend under $100, get 10% off
· Spend $100–$149.99, get 15% off
· Spend $150 or more, get 20% off

You must be a co-op owner with equity payments up-to-date to receive discount. Applies to items in stock and does not stack with case discounts.

Big Game Day Deals Today!

Look for huge savings on all your Game Day entrees, snacks and fixings during our sale from Friday through Sunday. We will have great deals on Que Pasa chips, select local brews, salsas, guacamole, dips (including the seven-layer dip, pictured), and avocados, jalapeños, tomatoes and more! All three days, the deli is offering hot chicken wings and vegan, gluten-free cauliflower wings in the hot bar along with carrots and celery in the salad bar.

Our meat department has prepared some special offerings too: take-and-bake jalapeño poppers and organic seasoned party wings so you can get them today and cook them fresh at home.

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

The co-op has a variety of beautiful, delicious and luxurious gift items for Valentine’s Day – whether you’re shopping for a loved one, a friend or yourself! Along with Seely heart-shaped chocolate mint patties, relaxing bath bombs and bath salts, candles and essential oil diffusers, we also have Valentine’s cards and gift bags.

The floral department is stocked with a plethora of colorful bouquets, planters and air plants in heart-shaped magnets. Pick up a jasmine hoop, a planter of white and red roses, pink and red potted calandiva succulents and more!

Our prepared foods department is offering organic chocolate-dipped strawberries and a flourless espresso torte with raspberry mousse and mirror glaze. Chocolate and carrot cake slices are also on sale now for two for $5.

Flash sale alert! Full-sized chocolate bars are on sale for 50% off from today through Thursday. Stock up on some of your favorite brands and try some new ones too. We have a variety of organic and ethically-sourced chocolate bars for you to choose from. This high-quality chocolate makes for a great Valentine’s Day present, or a perfect way to treat yourself! Inclusive Trade Profile: Alaffia

Alaffia is a local, Black-owned business offering a variety of body care products that can be found at the co-op, including body wash, hair products, lotion, deodorant and more. Olowo-n’djo Tchala, from Togo, and Prairie Rose Hyde, from Washington state, founded Alaffia in 2003. Their goal is to redefine the natural products industry through the values of beauty, equality and empowerment, fair trade, and safe, efficacious body care. Sales help fund empowerment projects to support fair trade producer communities in Togo. Alaffia’s Everyday Shea body lotion is on sale at the co-op right now!

Inclusive Trade is a new program developed by National Co-op Grocers, which believes supply chains should include a seat at the table for systemically underrepresented populations. According to NCG, “Supplier diversity promotes greater innovation, a healthier competitive environment and more equitably distributed benefits among all community members.”

Woman-owned local business Portland Pet Food Company offers a variety of dog meals and treats that shoppers can find at the co-op. Katie McCarron and her family founded this pet food business after seeing the need for natural, nutritious meals and treats for their own aging dog. Portland Pet Food is committed to sourcing local ingredients and using sustainable packaging.

Toula the puppy is a big fan of these treats, including the Gingerbread Biscuits she got for Christmas.
