Fresh albacore (about 1/2 pound)
1-2 Tablespoons Fresh Ginger, Grated
4 Cloves Garlic, Grated
4 Limes Juiced
1/2 Cup Soy Sauce (Tamari, or Bragg work great too)
1/4 Cup Sesame Oil
Combine & soak tuna in mixture for at least 30 min. Cook in a med. hot skillet or grill, just until cooked through.
At the Co-op, we source all our fresh seafood directly from Bornstein Seafoods in Astoria. Of all the tuna species, albacore has the highest amount of healthy Omega-3 oils, equaling a moist texture and rich flavor you won’t find in larger albacore caught in other parts of the world. Oregon albacore are relatively small, weighing 10-30 pounds. Another benefit of their size is that they haven’t had time to accumulate significant quantities of mercury, eliminating any worry.
