Celebrate Earth Day by shopping local at your community-owned co-op! We have lots of sustainable items available, from locally grown vegetables and our extensive bulk department to reusable plastic-free products, plant-based meals and more. Since we installed solar panels on our roof in March 2021, we’ve saved over 262,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, the equivalent of planting 1,980 trees! We also have electric vehicle charging stations in our parking lot for customers to use while they shop.
Save the date for a presentation called “Celebrating Coastal Ecology” at the co-op the day after Earth Day, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. Katie Voelke, executive director of the North Coast Land Conservancy, will present about the land-to-sea connection on the coast – from nudibranchs to beavers, coniferous trees and humans. The presentation will also touch on the importance of land and marine conservation in ensuring the Oregon Coast remains a place where healthy communities of people, plants and wildlife all thrive. This local nonprofit works to conserve Oregon’s coastal lands and waters.
