All applicants must read the Candidate Handbook before applying to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements. The Candidate Handbook can be found here. In addition to meeting the basic eligibility requirements, candidates can earn up to five Leader-Ship stamps by completing key opportunities designed to demonstrate their preparation and qualifications for board service. Candidate profiles in election materials will display a ship symbol for each Leader-Ship stamp earned, giving voters a quick visual indication of a candidate’s preparation for board service. One Leader-Ship stamp will be awarded for each of the opportunities listed below. Incumbent candidates will not receive Leader-Ship stamps, as their service on the Astoria Co-op Board is considered to fulfill these learning and preparation opportunities. Leader-Ship stamps will be verified by the Board Development Committee. Candidates have until September 30 to complete any of the opportunities listed below.

Leader-Ship Stamps will be confirmed as acquired by the Board Development Committee. They will be updated on the online candidate profiles, up until the Annual Owners’ Meeting. The election runs from the Annual meeting and extends for two weeks.

To be considered for nomination as a candidate in the 2026 Astoria Co-op Board of Directors election, all required application materials must be submitted by the deadline stated above. Only complete and accurate applications will be considered. Following review of the applications, the Board will approve a slate of candidates to appear on the ballot. Qualifications
